Algeria Boosts Industrial Partnerships with New Agreements and Factory Launch

Algeria’s Prime Minister, Seifi Ghrieb, presided on Wednesday in Algiers over the signing ceremony of two industrial cooperation agreements in the field of mechanical subcontracting. The agreements were concluded between the Maintenance Company of the East, a subsidiary of the GICA Group, and both Stellantis Algeria and Ident.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the inauguration of a factory specializing in the production of brake pads and related components, operated by the same company. The event was attended by several key government officials, including the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, and the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouzred, along with economic operators and sector representatives.

These agreements are part of broader efforts to strengthen economic partnerships, support industrial subcontracting, and improve the positioning of Algerian-made products in the domestic market.

Acting on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister also officially launched the new manufacturing facility located in the Rouiba industrial zone. The project reflects the government’s strategy to repurpose assets recovered from corruption cases and reintegrate them into the national economy as productive ventures.

The factory is expected to enhance local production capacity, meet domestic demand, and reduce reliance on imports, while also opening opportunities for exports to international markets. Additionally, it is set to contribute to job creation and generate added value within the national economy.

Overall, the initiative highlights Algeria’s commitment to strengthening its industrial base, encouraging investment, and promoting sustainable economic growth.
