The National Technical Committee of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has completed its assessment of candidates for the position of head coach of the Algerian national football team.
The committee finalized its work during an extraordinary meeting held on Thursday at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa, as the federation moves forward with the process of appointing a successor to former national team coach Vladimir Petković.
According to media reports, the committee has narrowed the final shortlist down to three candidates. Their names have now been submitted to FAF President Walid Sadi for further consideration.
The three shortlisted coaches are Spanish manager Félix Sánchez, fellow Spaniard Rafael Benítez, and Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet.
The selection process will now enter its next stage, during which the federation is expected to conduct a detailed assessment of the three candidates’ profiles before deciding who is best suited to lead the Desert Warriors.
The evaluation is expected to take into account several factors, including coaching experience, technical expertise, tactical approach, knowledge of international football, and the ability to manage the national team’s ambitions in upcoming competitions.
The appointment will mark the beginning of a new chapter for Algeria following the departure of Bosnian coach Vladimir Petković.
The Algerian Football Federation is now expected to carefully examine the shortlisted candidates before making its final choice and officially announcing the next head coach of the national team.
