Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, emphasized the need to strengthen the integration between the agricultural and industrial sectors to develop the food industries.
Speaking at the National Forum on Investment in Strategic Crops and the Valorization of Local Breeds, hosted by the Wilaya of Naama, Aoun highlighted that the food industry represents the second largest sector in the industry, contributing over 50 percent of the industrial GDP excluding hydrocarbons.
The minister called for enhanced integration between the industrial and agricultural sectors to develop food industries that rely on agricultural materials and transform them into industrial products with added value.
He added, “The forum aims to attract investment projects in strategic, industrial, and food agriculture in Naama, given its capabilities and especially the abundance of land and real estate.”
During his speech, Minister Aoun praised the potential of the Wilaya of Naama, stating that it “has the qualifications for investment in various projects, such as livestock farming.”
