Paris Grand Mosque Calls for Donations to Support Algerian Wildfire Families

The Grand Mosque of Paris has launched a call for donations to aid Algerian families severely impacted by the recent wildfires. This initiative from the prominent religious institution seeks to provide urgent assistance to those affected by the intense blazes that have swept across various regions of Algeria this week.
Violent forest fires have ravaged areas such as Jijel and Béjaïa, resulting in numerous casualties and extensive damage. The infernos have led to fatalities, injuries, destruction of homes, displacement of families, devastation of crops and orchards, and decimation of livestock. In response to this dramatic situation, the Grand Mosque of Paris, in its communiqué, highlighted the plight of "numerous bereaved, displaced families or those deprived of their possessions," emphasizing that "every donation, regardless of the amount, will contribute to bringing emergency aid to the affected populations and meeting their essential needs."
The donation appeal by the Grand Mosque of Paris is part of a broader wave of solidarity mobilizing both within Algeria and among the diaspora abroad. While collections of food items and aid convoys have been organized across Algerian wilayas, and online fundraising efforts are underway globally, the Grand Mosque of Paris provides a specific channel for contributions through its HelloAsso account. This collective mobilization underscores international support for Algeria in the face of the challenges posed by the wildfires.
