Mauritania Hosts Algerian Youth for Camp Closure

The National Camp for Gifted and Creative Youth 2026 concluded its activities in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The closing ceremony, held under the slogan “Youth empowerment begins with education,” was attended by an Algerian youth delegation, alongside officials and youth representatives. The initiative aimed to honor outstanding young individuals and encourage their continued excellence and contributions to national development.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to young individuals who achieved remarkable results in the 2026 Baccalaureate examination, representing various Mauritanian states. Members of the Algerian youth delegation were also honored, as were several Mauritanian youth recognized for their promising projects and initiatives. The camp, according to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Employment, Sports, and Civil Service, Mr. Ki Amadou El Hadj, provided an educational, training, and entrepreneurial environment that enabled participants to acquire new knowledge and skills, exchange experiences, and develop leadership capabilities.

The participation of the Algerian youth delegation introduced a regional dimension to this year's camp, fostering communication and idea exchange between young people from both countries, and facilitating mutual understanding of their shared culture and heritage. Mr. Farouk Bou Maaza, Chargé d'Affaires at the Algerian Embassy in Mauritania, praised the camp, affirming that Algeria and Mauritania share strong historical ties founded on brotherhood, solidarity, cooperation, and good neighborliness. This engagement underscores the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting joint youth initiatives that enhance communication and expand cooperation in cultural, training, and development sectors.
