Council of Muslim Sages, Diaspora Mobilize for Wildfire Victims

A significant wave of solidarity has emerged from the Algerian diaspora in France and Italy, alongside the Council of Muslim Sages, in support of victims affected by recent wildfires. These fires impacted wilayas in the eastern and central regions of the country, prompting a broad range of assistance and expressions of support from international communities.

In France, members of the Algerian community have begun to organize concrete aid. The association "Femmes unies solidaires" (AFUS) launched a solidarity fund via the Leetchi platform to provide practical assistance to families and children facing difficult situations. AFUS also plans to collect clean, good-condition clothing and shoes, and will organize a day of solidarity centered around meals prepared by participating families. Separately, an Algerian doctor residing in France issued a public appeal for the entire Algerian diaspora to mobilize and offer help to those affected by the fires.

The diaspora of the Arab World in Italy, known as "COMAI," has similarly expressed its strong solidarity with Algeria following the forest fires, with the aim of demonstrating support for the Algerian population. Further reinforcing international support, the Council of Muslim Sages, under the leadership of Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb, also declared its solidarity and extended sincere condolences to the Algerian Republic, the victims' families, and the Algerian people for the losses incurred during this challenging period.
