Minister Rabhi Reviews Algiers Coastal Modernization Projects

Minister and Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdelnour Rabhi, has overseen the progress of several "Blue Plan" projects, which are integral to the development and modernization of the capital's maritime facade. These initiatives are poised to significantly enhance the urban landscape, creating new leisure opportunities and improving the quality of life for both residents and visitors.

During his inspection, Mr. Rabhi visited various sites, including the Farhani stadium in Bab El Oued municipality, where coastal protection works are underway to expand the area towards the sea. This expansion aims to create new recreational spaces, complementing the existing development plan for Kitani Square Park. Additionally, the Wali reviewed the ongoing rehabilitation works at Martyrs' Square, which include the construction of a glass walkway positioned above archaeological remains. Explanations were provided regarding the technical procedures adopted to ensure the smooth execution of this complex project.

Further along the inspection route, Mr. Rabhi assessed the second phase of the Al Mismaka Port Park project. This phase involves the construction of a substantial 16,000 square meter terrace, designed to link Che Guevara Avenue directly to the waterfront. The plan also includes the creation of a parking facility capable of accommodating 400 vehicles. Another key focus was the progress of an elevated walkway, intended to connect Port Said Square with an additional park planned for the reclaimed pavement area of the port, further expanding the city's recreational offerings.

The Wali issued directives emphasizing the importance of adhering to specified contractual deadlines and ensuring high standards of quality in all construction works. These measures are crucial to realizing the projects in line with citizens' aspirations, thereby strengthening the capital's appeal and enhancing the urban and living environment for its population and guests.
