Public Alert Issued by Algérie Poste on Phishing

Algérie Poste has issued a strong public warning to its users regarding a rise in suspicious social media pages. These pages are circulating fraudulent links that falsely claim to offer money transfer services from Postal Current Accounts (CCP) to bank accounts. The public institution urges citizens to exercise extreme vigilance, advising them not to engage with these deceptive posts, click on any provided links, or, crucially, disclose personal financial details, account identifiers, or confidential verification codes. Algérie Poste emphasizes that all information concerning new services should only be confirmed through its official channels to safeguard against cyber scams designed to steal personal and financial data.

This alert precedes the finalization of a significant interoperability service by Algérie Poste, which is anticipated to launch in 2026. This forthcoming feature will enable direct money transfers from CCP accounts to bank accounts, accessible through the BaridiMob mobile application or directly at bank ATMs. The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, previously confirmed this advancement. Specialized teams from Algérie Poste are currently conducting rigorous technical tests for this service, in close coordination with the Société d’Automatisation des Transactions Interbancaires et de Monétique (SATIM) and all partner banking institutions, ahead of its full deployment.

Beyond technological advancements, Algérie Poste has also demonstrated its commitment to social assistance by implementing an emergency measure for individuals affected by recent wildfires across several regions. This initiative provides for the complimentary replacement of the Edahabia payment card for a period of 10 days for victims who have lost or damaged their cards. Affected citizens are encouraged to visit their local post office to verify their eligibility and initiate the free renewal process.
