Baladna El Djazaïr Begins Adrar Dairy Recruitment for 1,000

Baladna El Djazaïr has initiated a nationwide recruitment campaign for 1,000 positions for its integrated agricultural and dairy project located in Adrar. This initial phase is part of a broader employment program that aims to generate a total of 5,000 direct jobs as the project reaches its full operational scope. The large-scale initiative is designed to bolster national food security by meeting 50% of Algeria's powdered milk requirements by 2027 and significantly reducing imports of the product.

The $3.5 billion project, situated in Tamest municipality across 117,000 hectares, is a partnership between Algeria's National Investment Fund (FNI), holding a 49% stake, and Qatar-based Baladna Food Industries, which holds 51%. It encompasses crop production for cereals and fodder, dairy farming with a projected herd of around 95,000 animals to supply red meat to the domestic market, and industrial processing. This includes an automated facility designed to produce 194,000 tonnes of powdered milk and nearly 1.7 billion litres of raw milk annually, alongside a separate facility targeting 30,000 tonnes of infant powdered milk for children up to three years old.

The recruitment drive, described as a "talent caravan," began in Adrar and will progressively extend to other Algerian cities throughout 2027. Baladna El Djazaïr is seeking a diverse range of professionals, including agronomists, heavy-equipment operators, electromechanical technicians, hydrologists, automation engineers, and veterinarians. Athmane Ouadah, Baladna El Djazaïr’s senior director of human resources, stated that the objective is to attract and train talent in advanced technologies and industry expertise, highlighting that Algerian workers will be central to both building and operating the project, thereby ensuring the responsible utilization of Algerian resources and local expertise to support national development.
