Algerian and Sahrawi Foreign Ministers Discuss Western Sahara Decolonization Developments

In a meeting held on Sunday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf received his Sahrawi counterpart, Mohamed Sidati. The discussion focused on the latest developments in the decolonization of Western Sahara, following the recent report by the UN Secretary-General on the matter, and in anticipation of upcoming diplomatic engagements at both the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.

The ministers also addressed key issues related to the African Union’s agenda, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in partnerships between the African Union and international actors. They reiterated the outcomes of the recent Accra meeting, which underscored the need to avoid exclusion, selectivity, and discrimination in membership within these partnerships.
