German-Algerian Talks Target Green Hydrogen, Energy Storage Partnerships

A recent business meeting in Algiers, organized by the Algerian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, brought together specialized German and Algerian companies, institutional representatives, and ministry officials to identify collaboration opportunities in green hydrogen and energy storage technologies. The discussions notably focused on the SoutH2 Corridor project, an infrastructure designed to facilitate the export of green hydrogen from Algeria to Europe. This event forms part of a broader German export initiative in the energy sector.

This initiative underscores Algeria's strategic positioning as a significant future player in the clean energy domain. The SoutH2 Corridor is a key element in Algeria's long-term industrial trajectory within clean energy, supporting its national strategy for hydrogen development and renewable energy programs. The German delegation presented various technologies and services pertinent to this sector, including electrolysis, water treatment, storage and compression, industrial equipment, pipeline conversion, engineering, certification, and feasibility studies.

The meeting aimed to foster closer ties between companies from both nations, addressing the technological and industrial requirements associated with developing green hydrogen and energy installations. Participants engaged in presentations on Algeria's energy and renewable energy sectors, outlining plans for further development. Bilateral meetings were also scheduled to assist in identifying potential projects and partners, further strengthening Algerian-German cooperation in these vital areas.
