Commuter Train Schedules Updated in Algiers by SNTF

The National Railway Transport Company (SNTF) has announced the implementation of a new train schedule for the Algiers suburbs, which took effect on Saturday, September 19, 2026. This initiative is designed to better accommodate the increased number of daily commuters during the social season, a period marked by the return of workers, students, and pupils. The adjustments reflect SNTF's commitment to improving the efficiency and responsiveness of public transportation services for its users.

The updated program specifically targets several routes serving the Algiers suburban area, including key lines such as Alger-Thénia, Alger-El Affroun, Alger-Zéralda, and the railway link between Alger and Houari Boumediene Airport. For instance, early morning departures are now scheduled from Alger to Thénia at 6:25, 7:30, and 8:30, with return services from Thénia to Alger starting at 6:00. Similar adjustments have been made across other lines to facilitate smoother travel during peak hours. It is important to note that these modifications apply exclusively to the Algiers suburban trains; schedules for long-distance and inter-city services remain unchanged.

Travelers who regularly use the Algiers suburban train network are advised to consult the new timetable before their journeys to ensure they are aware of the updated departure and arrival times. The SNTF encourages passengers to verify their specific line's schedule in advance to effectively plan their daily commutes and avoid any inconvenience, thereby maximizing the benefits of these service enhancements.
