Minister Directs University Fleet Readiness for 2026-2027 Term

Algeria is proactively reinforcing its university transport fleet across various wilayas nationwide, an initiative undertaken in anticipation of the 2026-2027 academic year. This effort follows direct instructions from Saïd Saayoud, the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, with the primary objective of ensuring an optimal social and university environment for students.

The University Institution for Transport and Services is actively engaged in enhancing the fleet's readiness. Preparations involve intensifying maintenance operations, conducting thorough technical follow-ups, and continuously qualifying buses. Additionally, inspection operations are being strengthened to confirm both the technical and operational readiness of the vehicles, thereby guaranteeing the safety of students and the consistent, uninterrupted provision of university transport services.

Minister Saayoud specifically underscored the importance of dedicated attention to bus maintenance and increased follow-up activities. The comprehensive strategy also includes mobilizing all necessary human and material resources to ensure the fleet's full readiness and its capacity to meet the demands of the upcoming academic year. Field preparations are ongoing, with the deployment of buses, drivers, technical teams, and supervisors, alongside enhanced maintenance and qualification efforts at depots to elevate readiness levels and secure a regular, safe transport service for students across the country.

These measures are integral to Algeria's broader preparations aimed at facilitating an organized and successful academic year, ensuring that students throughout the various wilayas benefit from the best possible travel conditions.
