Tebboune Directs Farm Law, Accelerates Fire Compensation

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune presided over a Council of Ministers meeting where he issued directives for the government to prepare a new guiding agricultural law aimed at achieving greater efficiency. This initiative underscores a focus on vital national economic strategy within the agricultural sector.

During the meeting, President Tebboune also instructed the government to maintain support for this year's Hajj pilgrimage, mirroring the provisions adopted last year to ensure optimal care and accompaniment for Algerian pilgrims. Furthermore, the President commended governmental efforts, particularly those of relevant ministers, in expediting compensation operations for individuals affected by recent fires. He tasked these ministers with accelerating compensation distribution and implementing necessary measures to ensure eligible victims receive payments promptly.

Addressing the Civil Protection sector, President Tebboune ordered a comprehensive salary increase for its personnel, to be implemented through a review of index points. This directive acknowledges the critical roles performed by Civil Protection members in safeguarding citizens and responding to various emergencies and disasters. The Council of Ministers meeting encompassed discussions on several social and economic files, including a review of the basic law for Civil Protection personnel, digital connectivity between state institutions, and an assessment of the 2026 harvest season.
