Vietnam’s General Nghĩa Visits Algiers for Enhanced Bilateral Ties

General Nguyễn Trọng Nghĩa, a member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led a high-level political delegation on an official visit to Algeria. The General, who also serves as a permanent member of the Central Military Commission and head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, commenced the visit on the morning of September 21.

The visit to Algeria, which ran from September 21 to September 28, was conducted in accordance with a cooperation plan extending until 2026, established with Algeria's Ministry of National Defense. Its primary objective was to strengthen exchanges of delegations and high-level contacts involving leaders of the Vietnam People's Army and military officials in Algeria.

This initiative aimed to expand defense cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria. Furthermore, the visit sought to reinforce the traditional friendship and strategic partnership existing between the two countries, contributing to the positive trajectory of their bilateral relations.
