Shanghai Hosts Algeria’s First World Skills Participation

Algeria marked its inaugural participation in the World Skills Competition, also known as the "Olympics of Professions," which commenced its 48th edition on Tuesday in Shanghai, China. This significant debut for the nation was attended by Nesima Arhab, the Minister of Vocational Training and Education. The international event is scheduled to continue until the following Monday.

Algeria's delegation includes two young participants: Akram Hazir, specializing in automotive technology, and Yasser Hawwas, focusing on mobile applications. This involvement is viewed as a crucial opportunity to gain insights into the most recent techniques and international benchmarks adopted in professional skills. It also provides a platform for Algerian youth to engage with their global counterparts, fostering the exchange of experiences and expertise across various professional and technological fields.

On the sidelines of the competition, Minister Arhab is scheduled to hold meetings with various officials and representatives from international organizations and institutions. These discussions will center on exploring avenues to strengthen cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in areas such as skill development and vocational training, alongside learning about relevant international practices. This participation aligns with the vocational training and education sector's broader objectives to embrace international experiences and evolve specializations, ensuring they meet the demands of the labor market, particularly in modern technologies and related professions.
