New A330-900neo for Air Algérie Conducts First Flight

Air Algérie's sixth Airbus A330-900neo has successfully completed its initial test flight in Toulouse, France. The aircraft, registered 7T-VJG (F-WWYF during trials), conducted approximately four hours of flight, marking the commencement of its testing campaign before joining the national airline's fleet.

This latest development is part of Air Algérie's ongoing fleet modernization efforts. The national carrier has already received five Airbus A330-900neo aircraft since late 2025, with this sixth unit now progressing towards delivery. An additional seventh Airbus is also anticipated to be delivered to Air Algérie before the conclusion of the current year, further expanding its wide-body fleet.

The acquisition and integration of these new aircraft underscore Air Algérie's significant progress in enhancing its operational capabilities and fleet modernity. With five Airbus aircraft already received and two more awaited this year, alongside three Boeing 737 Max 8s, Air Algérie's expansion outpaces several regional counterparts, including Royal Air Maroc, which has received two Boeing 787-9s, Egyptair with four Airbus A350-900s, and Ethiopian Airlines, which has not received any wide-body aircraft this year.
