On the eve of National Mujahid Day, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized the importance of the dual commemoration of the North Constantine Attacks (August 20, 1955) and the Soummam Congress (August 20, 1956) in the history of Algeria’s struggle for independence.
In his message, President Tebboune reflected on these pivotal events, noting that the North Constantine Attacks dealt a significant blow to the colonial forces, demonstrating the unwavering resolve of the Algerian people and their commitment to the liberation struggle. He praised the bravery and sacrifices of those who fought, highlighting how their courage boosted the morale of the National Liberation Army.
The President also underlined the importance of the Soummam Congress, which marked a decisive moment in the political and military strategies of the Algerian revolution. The congress underscored the resilience of the Algerian people in the face of colonial oppression.
President Tebboune concluded by paying tribute to the martyrs and mujahideen, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to upholding the values of the November 1954 Revolution and ensuring the security and prosperity of Algeria.
