Tambov Hosts Algerian Scholars for Educational Partnership
A delegation from leading Algerian scientific and educational institutions recently engaged in discussions with Russian counterparts in Tambov, Russia, exploring new avenues for collaboration. The Algerian representatives, comprising leaders, teachers, and postgraduate students from the National Polytechnic University, the National Higher School of Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies, and the University of Batna 2, met with Konstantin Kuteynikov, head of the Tambov City Duma. This initiative aimed to reinforce educational and institutional ties, marking a significant step in developing international partnerships.
The visit unfolded within the framework of the Russian-African Network University's Summer University program, specifically designed to foster experience exchange and strengthen academic connections. Discussions primarily focused on the role of local self-government in urban development and international relations, with Mr. Kuteynikov detailing the Tambov City Duma's operations and its engagement with residents. A key outcome of the program was the awarding of certificates to Algerian teachers who successfully completed the summer school, a component geared towards enhancing the quality of engineering personnel training with an emphasis on sustainable development.
Riadh Meguellati, Vice-Rector for External Relations at the University of Batna 2, highlighted that the participants not only exchanged academic practices but also gained insights into Tambov's culture, history, and architecture. He observed similarities in the operational principles of city representative bodies in both Russia and Algeria, commending the openness and hospitality extended by the Tambov residents. This exchange underscores a growing international interest in collaboration with Russian academic and municipal bodies, positively reflecting on Algeria's proactive engagement in global educational partnerships.
