Egyptian Ambassador Seeks Doubled Trade and Investment with Algeria

Egyptian Ambassador to Algeria, Abdel Latif Al-Lahih, affirmed the "excellent" economic relations between the two nations, expressing Egypt's aim to significantly develop and double the volume of trade exchange and boost joint Egyptian and Algerian investments in the coming years. In a press statement, Al-Lahih noted that the trade volume this year has already surpassed $1.2 billion, with an ambition to see this figure doubled soon through cooperation between major companies. He emphasized the "great, important, and strategic" nature of relations between Egypt and Algeria.

Regarding investments, Ambassador Al-Lahih stated that the volume of Egyptian investments in Algeria has doubled over recent years, reaching a cumulative $5.5 billion by the end of 2025. He highlighted that these investments provide a strong foundation for future growth. The Ambassador pointed to the growth in investments as evidence that Algeria's investment climate is attractive to foreign capital.

Al-Lahih further noted the strong desire among Egyptian investors to explore investment opportunities in Algeria, citing the significant success experienced by Egyptian companies operating in the country. He concluded by affirming efforts to provide all necessary facilities to encourage both Egyptian and Algerian companies in joint investment ventures.
