Ramallah (Occupied Palestine) – The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has issued a stern warning regarding the intensifying violations by the Israeli occupation against the sacred Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. The ministry called on the international community to intervene and halt these violations, affirming the Palestinian people’s exclusive sovereignty over this important Islamic site.

In a statement released on Tuesday, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the ministry condemned the Israeli occupation forces for preventing the call to prayer (Adhan) at the mosque’s minarets for eight consecutive days. The ministry described this action as a “dangerous escalation” aimed at erasing Islamic practices within the mosque, potentially leading to a complete ban in the future.

Additionally, on Monday, the Israeli forces prevented an international diplomatic delegation from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque, blocking their efforts to witness firsthand the ongoing acts of Judaization, theft, and alteration of the mosque’s Islamic features.

The Palestinian Ministry emphasized that these systematic violations are part of a broader plan to assert full control over the mosque. It urged the international community to take necessary actions to stop these aggressions and reinforce the Palestinian people’s rightful sovereignty over the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The ministry also called on all Palestinians, especially those in Hebron, to maintain a constant presence at the mosque and to revive religious occasions, preserving its Islamic identity. “The Ibrahimi Mosque, with all its courtyards and facilities, is an exclusive Islamic waqf property,” the statement declared.

It is worth noting that in the past year, the Israeli occupation forces blocked the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque 704 times and closed the mosque to Muslim worshippers for ten days.
