Algiers – Member of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, Mohamed Anwar Bouchoit, emphasized the importance of mobilizing support for the emergency agenda item on Palestine during his participation in a meeting of the Working Committee on the Emergency Item in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting took place as part of the 149th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), according to a statement from the Assembly.
The statement explained that during his participation in the meeting, Bouchoit, serving as Algeria’s representative in the Working Committee on the Emergency Item, highlighted the necessity of “maintaining communication with the countries that voted in favor of the emergency item on Palestine in the previous session.” He also underscored the importance of “preserving the achievements made and working towards securing new votes in favor of the emergency item.”
It is worth noting that the meeting of the Working Committee on the Emergency Item was chaired by the Speaker of the Omani Shura Council, as the head of the committee, which includes members from Algeria, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, and Oman, according to the same source.
