Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune greeted the President of India, Mrs. Droupadi Murmu, upon her arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport this Sunday afternoon. The Indian President began a four-day state visit to Algeria aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by high-ranking state officials and members of the Algerian government. Both national anthems were played as President Tebboune and President Murmu paid their respects to the Algerian flag. The two leaders then reviewed a guard of honor composed of various units of the People’s National Army, which saluted them in a show of respect.
To further mark the significance of the visit, 21 cannon shots were fired in honor of Algeria’s esteemed guest.
