Algiers – Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Eid Rabea, highlighted on Wednesday the need to safeguard Algeria’s national memory and amplify the voice of a victorious Algeria. His statement came during the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian War of Independence.
While presiding over the opening of a historical conference at the National Museum of Mujahid, organized to commemorate the historic meeting of the six revolutionary leaders, Minister Rabea emphasized that the 70th anniversary is not just a commemoration. “It is a moment to renew our commitment to these heroes and their memory. It is also an opportunity to uphold the values they fought for and raise the victorious voice of Algeria,” he declared, adding that “yesterday, Algeria was a beacon of liberation, and today it stands as a symbol of development and modernization.”
The minister reiterated that the ideals of the November Revolution remain a guiding light: “November will continue to illuminate our path and serve as a source of inspiration for all freedom fighters around the world.” He also affirmed Algeria’s steadfast commitment to defending just causes globally, notably supporting the Palestinian and Sahrawi struggles for freedom.
During the conference, which included lectures on the historic meeting of the six revolution leaders — Mustafa Ben Boulaid, Mohamed Boudiaf, Krim Belkacem, Larbi Ben M’hidi, Rabah Bitat, and Didouche Mourad — Rabea underscored the importance of youth. He stressed that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune places significant value on youth as essential contributors to Algeria’s ongoing development, especially in light of the current international and regional challenges.
