In a key effort to assess the state of heating and meal services in Algerian schools, the Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, chaired a nationwide video conference on Saturday evening from the Ministry’s headquarters in El Mouradia. Senior officials from the central administration and education directors across the country participated in the meeting, which focused on evaluating the implementation of measures previously outlined during earlier conferences.
According to an official statement from the Ministry, the discussions aimed to ensure that all issues related to students’ education have been fully addressed, with a particular focus on verifying the readiness of heating systems across educational institutions.
The Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by all parties involved in supporting students’ education. He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of school conditions in every province, while urging officials to maintain daily contact with stakeholders until the end of this month.
Given the positive results achieved last year by the real-time monitoring system for heating services, which allowed for swift and efficient intervention when needed, the Minister instructed officials to expand the system to also cover the monitoring of school meal services across the country.
Additionally, the Minister reviewed the progress made by the committee responsible for organizing the National School Sports Championship, stressing the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure the championship’s success.
As part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to evaluate its operations, the Minister announced plans to hold local, regional, and national conferences to assess the sector’s digitalization initiatives. These conferences, modeled on similar events held last year, aim to further modernize and enhance the Ministry’s performance. The Minister emphasized the importance of allowing sufficient time for these evaluations to ensure the active participation of institutional and social partners.
