November 1 Proclamation: A Roadmap for an Independent and Prosperous Algeria

Algiers – The President of Algeria’s Council of the Nation, Mr. Salah Goudjil, has emphasized that the November 1 Proclamation serves as “a guiding framework and roadmap for an independent, stable, and prosperous Algeria.”

During a speech at a seminar held alongside the Algiers International Book Fair at the Exhibition Palace, which was delivered on his behalf by the Vice President of the Council of the Nation, Ahmed Kherchi, Mr. Goudjil highlighted the impact of the November 1 Revolution. He noted that the proclamation restored hope to oppressed and colonized peoples, redefining global power dynamics based on human values and international legitimacy.

In his remarks at the seminar, titled “The Spirit of Glorious November: Heritage and Memory,” Mr. Goudjil described the November 1 Proclamation as a roadmap not only toward independence but also toward building an Algeria that is independent, stable, and prosperous. He stated, “Seventy years after the launch of the liberation revolution, its spirit remains alive within us, illuminating our path toward further victories in the new, stable Algeria being shaped by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”

Mr. Goudjil also praised the state’s commitment to culture and creativity, which has been demonstrated through the establishment of the President’s Prize for Distinguished Achievements in Culture and Science and the State Prize for Arts and Literature.

In addition, veteran freedom fighter Issa Kasmi addressed the seminar, discussing France’s colonialist policies in Algeria and the phases of Algerian resistance, from popular uprisings to the national movement, culminating in the November 1 Revolution and Algeria’s independence and sovereignty.

Journalist and author Sadeq Bekhouche also contributed, underscoring the origins of the liberation revolution within the national movement and calling for the preservation of national memory to be passed on to future generations.
