Algiers – The Algerian Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, announced the formation of a joint committee to oversee the implementation of a comprehensive railway network improvement and maintenance program. This announcement came in a statement from the Ministry on Tuesday.
The decision was finalized during a recent meeting held on Monday at the Ministry of Public Works headquarters. The meeting was led by Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Lakhdar Rekhroukh, and Minister of Transport, Mr. Mohamed Habib Zahana. The primary focus was to assess the progress of railway modernization projects, especially in the Algiers capital region and surrounding areas.
During the session, an update on the status of railway maintenance and renewal projects was presented, with special emphasis on those in and around Algiers. The ministers issued critical directives to the agencies involved, stressing the importance of rigorous maintenance of the railway network. They called for an accelerated pace in completing related projects to enhance the quality of services provided, aiming to meet public expectations and improve overall public service. Public Works
