Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call on Sunday from his U.S. counterpart, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to a statement issued by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Acknowledging Diplomatic and Economic Progress
During the call, Secretary Blinken conveyed President Joe Biden’s congratulations to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his re-election for a second term. Both officials expressed satisfaction with the progress made in strengthening economic ties and expanding strategic dialogue between Algeria and the United States. They emphasized their shared commitment to maintaining and building upon this positive momentum in the future.
Discussions on International Affairs
The two diplomats also exchanged views on key issues currently before the UN Security Council, including:
