Algiers – On Wednesday, the President of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution, Mr. Nour Eddine Djoudi, hosted Mozambique’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. António Nambeureti, at the association’s headquarters during a courtesy visit, according to an official statement.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Mr. Djoudi to highlight the historical ties between Algeria and Mozambique. He recalled witnessing the birth of Mozambique’s liberation movement, FRELIMO, and emphasized Algeria’s unwavering support for the movement.
In particular, Mr. Djoudi reflected on the frequent interactions and strong relationships he maintained with FRELIMO’s key leaders, including Samora Machel, Filipe Samuel Magaia, Marcelino dos Santos, and Joaquim Chissano, the latter being an honorary president of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution.
For his part, Ambassador Nambeureti, who has been serving in Algeria for six months, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received during a meeting with Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune while presenting his credentials.
The ambassador emphasized the need to strengthen economic and trade exchanges to elevate them to the level of the excellent political relations shared by both nations.
