Algiers – Kamel Sidi Saïd, Advisor to the President of the Republic and Head of the General Directorate of Communication, along with the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, presided over a meeting with directors of accredited private television channels today, Tuesday. This meeting was held at the request of the channels, according to a statement from the General Directorate of Communication under the Presidency of the Republic.
The statement explained: “At the request of the accredited private television channels, Mr. Kamel Sidi Saïd, Advisor to the President of the Republic responsible for the General Directorate of Communication, and Mr. Mohamed Meziane, Minister of Communication, chaired a meeting with the directors of these organizations. The discussion focused on technical mechanisms to align with the new Organic Law on Information and the Audiovisual Law. Various viewpoints and concerns were presented to ensure a smooth transition in implementing the provisions of these laws.”
The meeting also included senior officials from the General Directorate of Communication as well as directors from public institutions and bodies specializing in communication and audiovisual services, according to the same source.
