Maza, Abdelli, Gouiri Excel in European Leagues Ahead of National Duty

Algerian international footballers Ibrahim Maza, Himad Abdelli, and Amine Gouiri are making significant impacts in European football leagues. The trio is set to face each other in an upcoming Europa League match, with Maza representing Bayer Leverkusen against Abdelli and Gouiri from Olympique de Marseille. Following these club commitments, all three players will regroup at the Sidi-Moussa National Technical Center to prepare for Algeria's crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Togo.

Ibrahim Maza, a midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, has garnered particular attention, earning a nomination for "Player of the Month" in the German championship for October 2026 from Electronic Arts and the Bundesliga. During October, Maza started all four Bundesliga matches, notably scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 2-1 victory over SC Freiburg, and finding the net again against VfB Stuttgart. His consistent high-level play builds on prior recognition, having been designated the third-best young player globally by Lionel Messi.

Amine Gouiri and Himad Abdelli are also demonstrating their capabilities with Olympique de Marseille. Gouiri is currently the club's leading scorer in Ligue 1, having netted six goals and delivered three assists so far this season. His strong form has placed him back in the spotlight within the French league. Meanwhile, Himad Abdelli, a creative midfielder, has been specifically praised by Bayer Leverkusen's official website for his dynamic play. These performances highlight the strong contributions Algerian talent is making on the international football stage.
