Algiers – On Thursday in Asmara, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, was received by the President of Eritrea, Mr. Isaias Afwerki. This meeting took place as part of Mr. Baddari’s visit in his capacity as a special envoy of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the ministry.
During the reception, Mr. Baddari delivered a message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his Eritrean counterpart, the ministry’s statement noted.
The statement further highlighted that “the President of Eritrea appreciated the ties of brotherhood, solidarity, and cooperation between the two peoples” and commended “Algeria’s strong and active strategic role in promoting African joint action.”
The meeting also served as “an opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation in various fields between Algeria and Eritrea,” the statement added.
