Algiers – On Thursday, during the 15th round of the Ligue 1 Mobilis, MC Alger moved up to second place after securing a 2-1 away victory over NC Magra, while USM Alger climbed to the podium with a commanding 3-0 win over MC Oran.
MC Alger’s victory was once again thanks to defender Mohamed Reda Hlaimia, who scored both goals. After NC Magra’s Bouzoukri opened the scoring in the 48th minute, Hlaimia equalized with a superb free kick in the 53rd minute and then netted the winning goal in added time (90+2) with another set-piece.
This brace took Hlaimia, previously with Belgian club Beerschot, to four goals for the season, becoming the team’s top scorer, ahead of teammate Andy Delort (3 goals). The win solidified MC Alger’s impressive away form, earning 14 points from a possible 18. However, their home form remains weak with only 7 points from 18 available.
The victory allowed MC Alger to temporarily rise to second place, three points behind leaders JS Kabylie (24 points). NC Magra, on the other hand, remains in 12th place with 15 points.
Meanwhile, in the 5th July Olympic Stadium, USM Alger achieved a vital 3-0 victory over MC Oran. The goals came from Ben Zaza (48th minute), an own goal by Oran’s defender Akoun (90+2), and a header from defender Azziz (90+6). This win propelled USM Alger to third place with 20 points, tied with CS Constantine and ES Sétif. The team also has four games in hand.
MC Oran, on the other hand, dropped to 7th place with 18 points and a postponed match.
Paradou AC continued their good run with a 2-0 away win against promoted team CR Temouchent, thanks to goals from Adel Boulbine in the 9th and 89th minutes. This victory lifted Paradou to 6th place with 19 points and three games in hand.
Boulbine (21 years old) remains the top scorer of the season with 11 goals, six ahead of his closest rivals, Riad Boudebouz (JS Kabylie) and Dibs (CS Constantine), who have 5 goals each.
Meanwhile, CR Temouchent continues to struggle, failing to secure a win in their last seven matches, with their last victory dating back to November 3, 2024, away against Olympique Aokas (2-1).
The excitement continues on Friday and Saturday, with leaders JS Kabylie traveling to Chlef to face the local team, while CS Constantine and ES Sétif, both in third place, head south to face JS Saoura and Union Biskra, respectively.
