Algeria Women’s Team Prepares for Decisive Clash Against Kenya

The Algerian women’s national football team continued its preparations on Saturday ahead of its crucial match against Kenya, scheduled for Monday evening at 9:00 p.m., as part of the third and final round of the group stage at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, according to the Algerian Football Federation.

The latest training session, which lasted around an hour and a half, featured a varied program. It began with ball-based warm-up exercises under the supervision of the fitness coach, before the players were divided into two groups for technical and tactical drills. The coaching staff placed particular emphasis on strategic organization and game planning.

Head coach Farid Benstiti stressed the importance of discipline, strict adherence to instructions, and maintaining a high level of concentration ahead of this decisive encounter with the Kenyan side.

However, the session was marked by the absence of two players, Morgane Belkhiter and Morgane Eiken, who are continuing their recovery programs due to injury.

This edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations features, for the first time, 16 teams divided into four groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

The stakes are high, as the four semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Teams eliminated in the quarter-finals will still compete in additional matches to determine the African representatives for the intercontinental playoffs leading to the 2027 World Cup.
