Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, extended his heartfelt New Year greetings to all members of the People’s National Army (ANP) as Algeria ushers in 2025.
In his message, General Chengriha wrote:
“On the occasion of welcoming the New Year 2025, it gives me great pleasure to extend my warmest wishes and sincerest congratulations to all members of the People’s National Army, the worthy heir of the National Liberation Army. To the officers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees serving across every corner of our blessed homeland, I pray to the Almighty to grant you all continued health and well-being. May He bless you and your families with prosperity and success in your noble duties, serving our cherished nation and its proud people.”
General Chengriha emphasized the ongoing efforts to strengthen Algeria’s economic resilience, social cohesion, and security. He called on all Algerians with steadfast patriotism to unite in building a victorious, modern Algeria that remains on track to achieve its ambitious national goals, particularly ensuring prosperity and stability for its people.
He reaffirmed the ANP’s unwavering commitment to its constitutional duties:
“The People’s National Army, always prepared to contribute alongside the nation’s vibrant forces, remains fully mobilized and dedicated to performing its missions with utmost devotion and loyalty. Our relentless efforts are aimed at building a strong, capable army, ever-ready to defend the nation and protect its sovereignty and supreme interests. This includes fostering national solidarity, countering divisive forces, and thwarting all attempts that jeopardize the security, stability, and territorial integrity of our homeland.”
General Chengriha reminded ANP members of their historical legacy:
“Our army will continue to walk the path set by the National Liberation Army, with the same spirit, determination, and principles. The resilient Algerian people, through their unity with their army, embody an unparalleled model of national cohesion, fraternity, and prioritization of the nation’s supreme interests. Despite the intensifying conspiracies and subversive tactics, these only strengthen our resolve to confront all treacherous plots and tackle the rapid regional and international transformations.”
Addressing the defenders of the nation, he urged:
“I encourage you to uphold the values of our glorious ancestors, maintain a high sense of responsibility, and ensure perpetual readiness. Let this new year mark your active contribution to combating terrorism and dismantling its dark designs, thwarting any resurgence of its ideological framework. Furthermore, you must counter all forms of extremism and organized crime, including the proliferation of harmful substances and drugs intended to harm our youth, the nation’s most valuable asset.”
He concluded with a call for vigilance:
“All personnel must exercise the highest level of awareness regarding the enemies’ schemes and adhere strictly to the combat training program and directives issued by the high command. These measures are crucial to ensuring the constant operational readiness of our forces, enabling us to meet the challenges of today and secure the opportunities of tomorrow.”
