
Doha – The second edition of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 will take place from December 1 to 18 in Qatar, according to an announcement made by the Qatar Olympic Committee on its official website on Wednesday.

The competition will be held in the same iconic stadiums that hosted the FIFA World Cup 2022, showcasing Qatar’s world-class facilities.
Qatar’s Commitment to Hosting
After receiving FIFA’s approval, Qatar is set to host the next three editions of the FIFA Arab Cup in 2025, 2029, and 2033. These events will be held a year prior to each FIFA World Cup, solidifying Qatar’s position as a hub for major international football tournaments.
Participating Teams
The Arab national teams will participate in the tournament by invitation from the Qatar Football Association, the organizing body of the competition. Notably, the Arab Cup is not included in FIFA’s official annual calendar.
Historical Context
The inaugural FIFA-supervised Arab Cup in 2021 saw Algeria crowned champions under the leadership of coach Madjid Bougherra, after defeating Tunisia 2-0 in extra time during the final.
Preparations Underway
In preparation for the 2025 edition, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) approved the return of Madjid Bougherra as head coach of the national team for domestic players. Bougherra will resume his duties starting Thursday, January 2, 2025, focusing on building a competitive team with the best local talents, according to an FAF statement.
