Israeli Forces Continue Demolishing Homes in Southern Lebanon

Beirut – Israeli forces continued their demolition of homes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, marking a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement declared on November 27.

Ongoing Violations

Field reports indicate that Israeli occupation forces have demolished homes in the town of Aita al-Shaab. Additionally, soldiers set fire to several residences in the town of Aitaroun, located in the Bint Jbeil district.

The Lebanese Army recently condemned the repeated Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement and the continued assaults on Lebanon’s sovereignty, describing these actions as attempts to destroy southern villages and towns.

Presence of Occupation Forces

Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces remain stationed in over 30 border villages and towns in southern Lebanon. Under the terms of the agreement, all occupation forces were required to withdraw from these areas within 60 days of the ceasefire’s declaration.

Escalating Tensions

The actions of the Israeli forces have heightened tensions in the region, drawing criticism from Lebanese authorities and international observers. The persistent violations highlight the fragility of the ceasefire and the challenges of achieving lasting peace in the region.
