Algiers, January 16, 2025 – Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held an official meeting on Thursday at the Ministry’s headquarters with Senegal’s Minister of Armed Forces, General Birame Diop. The Senegalese official is on an official visit to Algeria as a special envoy of Senegal’s President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement released by the ministry.
The meeting, as stated in the communiqué, served as an opportunity to review the cooperative relations between Algeria and Senegal and explore ways to strengthen them in alignment with the high-level directives of the two countries’ leaderships. The two ministers also discussed issues related to upcoming continental engagements, further solidifying Algeria and Senegal’s shared commitment to advancing African unity and progress.
This meeting highlights the depth of Algeria’s relations with its African counterparts and its ongoing role in promoting collaboration and solidarity across the continent.
