Port Louis – Algeria’s Minister of Health, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, acting as a special envoy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was received in Port Louis by Mauritius Prime Minister, Mr. Navin Ramgoolam, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday.
During the meeting, Mr. Saihi handed over a written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the Mauritian leader. The discussion focused on exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple fields, including fisheries, agriculture, manufacturing industries, tourism, training programs, energy investments, renewable energies, and sustainable development.
The meeting also highlighted the strategic importance of these sectors in fostering a stronger partnership between Algeria and Mauritius. Both sides emphasized the need for sharing expertise and experiences to achieve their mutual goals.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Ramgoolam expressed his anticipation of visiting Algeria in the near future and conveyed his hopes to meet President Tebboune during the upcoming African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
The Prime Minister extended warm greetings and fraternal sentiments to President Tebboune, wishing Algeria continued progress and prosperity. He also conveyed his hopes for enduring welfare and success for the Algerian people.
The meeting was attended by Algeria’s ambassador responsible for representing the country in Mauritius from Madagascar, alongside senior officials from both nations. This reflects the depth of the bilateral relations and the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in various fields, as noted in the statement.
