Algeria Hosts Regional Workshop by the International Civil Service Commission

Algiers – The International Civil Service Commission (ICSC), in collaboration with Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, will host a regional workshop in Algiers from January 26 to 30. This workshop will address various topics within the ICSC’s mandate, including modern salary systems, allowances, job classification, staff mobility, and other related issues, according to a statement from the ministry on Saturday.

The statement highlighted that this annual workshop, organized in cooperation with United Nations organizations and staff unions based on geographic rotation principles, provides a platform for the ICSC to present its work and its role within the UN system. It will also facilitate informal discussions on its methods and policies.

This year marks the first edition of the workshop to be held in Algeria, a notable achievement for the country. The event will see the participation of more than 80 international officials representing 23 global and regional organizations, alongside representatives from official Algerian institutions.

The workshop reflects Algeria’s growing role in fostering international cooperation and contributing to the development of global civil service standards.
