Algiers – On Thursday in Algiers, 14 institutional films were awarded the prize for the best audiovisual creativity in the field of institutional films across several categories. These works stood out for their artistic and creative touch, showcasing the development of production, services, and programs in Algeria.
The award ceremony for the best audiovisual creativity in institutional films was held at the M’Hamed Yazid Palace of Culture, marking the conclusion of the first edition of the Institutional Image Festival (February 5-6). The event was attended by Minister of Culture and Arts Zahir Bellou, during which 14 institutional films were selected from among 90 competing entries. The films competed in various categories, including promotional, awareness-raising, preventive films, and institutional advertisements produced with distinctive artistic and technical visions that enhance Algeria’s economic image and promote its cultural and civilizational heritage.
In the promotional film and public relations category, three films were selected: one about the Algerian Higher School of Business, “Al-Qarawiyyin: A Renewed Legacy and Continued Excellence,” and “A Blooming Gift.” In the institutional film category, three films produced by both private and public institutions were honored, including a film about the “Kosidar” company. In the awareness-raising and preventive film category, the jury selected a film about the Capacity Building Program for Local Development Actors (CAPDAL), which promotes wool-related professions in Djelfa, a film on combating waste, and a third titled “Every Child is a Hero,” produced by UNICEF Algeria in collaboration with Olympic boxing champion Iman Khelif during her visit to Sahrawi refugee camps.
In the institutional advertisement category, three works promoting products and services from both public and private institutions were awarded. The student film category honored Mohamed Ali Harakat for his work, “The Algerian Higher School of Business in Korea: A Bridge Connecting Two Cultures.” Additionally, the jury awarded a special prize to the film “The Lsheb Brothers.”
In her closing remarks, festival director and president of the “Tahya Cinema” association, Zarifa Mazer, stated that the first edition of the festival provided participants with an opportunity to gather in a shared space to exchange knowledge and showcase their creative and professional skills in the field of audiovisual production for Algerian institutions active in the economic sector.
It is worth noting that the first edition of the Institutional Image Festival was organized by the “Tahya Cinema” association under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Microenterprises, and with the participation of audiovisual and cinematic professionals, as well as marketing managers. According to the organizers, the festival aimed to bring together the institutional imaging ecosystem to highlight initiatives, creativity, and strategies that contribute to strengthening brand identities in service of society, the environment, and institutions, reshaping public perception of companies, their brands, and visual identities.
