On Monday, August 4, 2025, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over the official ceremony commemorating National People’s Army Day at the Army National Club in Beni Messous, Algiers. The event honored retired members of the National People’s Army (ANP) from the National Liberation Army ranks, families of fallen soldiers, and injured veterans who fought terrorism. In the presence of high-ranking civil and military officials, including Army Chief of Staff General Saïd Chengriha, the President presented certificates of recognition, emphasizing the army’s pivotal role in defending national unity and institutions. General Chengriha hailed the President’s continued support and reaffirmed the army’s unwavering loyalty and dedication to the Algerian nation. Similar tribute ceremonies were held across military regions, underscoring the ANP’s historical legacy and commitment to national service.
