Algiers – A detachment of the National People’s Army security forces successfully eliminated four armed terrorists on the southeastern border of the country, in the Fourth Military Region, on Saturday, the Ministry of National Defence announced in a statement released Sunday.
According to the statement, “As part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and all forms of organized crime, yesterday morning, August 9, 2025, a detachment from the Army’s security services neutralized four armed terrorists in the southeastern border area of the Fourth Military Region. The assailants, armed with four Kalashnikov assault rifles, were operating within terrorist groups outside the country and attempted to breach Algeria’s national borders and infiltrate its territory.”
The eliminated individuals have been identified as Amrani Moaz, Bousbaa Hossam, Ghadir Bachir Maamar, and Bedghio Okba.
“This operation once again demonstrates the vigilance and determination of the National People’s Army to eradicate anyone attempting to cross our national borders illegally and undermine the security of our citizens,” the statement concluded.
