President Tebboune Appoints Members of the New Government

Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced on Sunday the appointment of members of the new government, which will be led by the Prime Minister, Mr. Saifi Ghrib.

In a statement read by the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Samir Aqqoun, it was confirmed that President Tebboune had decided to carry out a government reshuffle. The following appointments were made:

  • Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, in charge of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs
  • Saïd Chengriha, Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army
  • Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State, in charge of Hydrocarbons and Mines
  • Ibrahim Mourad, Minister of State, responsible for the General Inspectorate of State Services and Local Authorities
  • Saïd Sayout, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport
  • Lotfi Boujemaa, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals
  • Abdelkrim Bouzerd, Minister of Finance
  • Kamel Baddari, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
  • Mohamed Sghir Saadawi, Minister of National Education
  • Mohamed Esseddik Aït Massoudane, Minister of Health
  • Abdelmalek Tacherift, Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders
  • Yahia Bachir, Minister of Industry
  • Wassim Gouidri, Minister of the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Yassine Mehdi Walid, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries

This reshuffle reflects President Tebboune’s continued commitment to strengthening state institutions and ensuring stability at both the domestic and international levels, in particular by reinforcing Algeria’s steadfast positions on regional matters such as its unwavering support for the just cause of the Sahrawi people against Moroccan colonial schemes. The formation of this government confirms Algeria’s determination to preserve its sovereignty, protect its people, and remain a key actor in promoting peace, stability, and cooperation in Africa and beyond.
