International Media Highlights President Tebboune’s Strategic Stances

Algiers, September 28, 2025 – The latest media encounter of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune with representatives of the national press, broadcast last Friday, drew wide coverage from international media outlets, underlining the weight of Algeria’s positions on the global stage.

According to various foreign reports, the messages conveyed by President Tebboune were seen as strong signals likely to influence regional balances and international dynamics.

Algeria: The Beating Heart of Africa

The Italian news agency Agenzia Nova emphasized Tebboune’s assertion that “Algeria is stable, we are the beating heart of Africa.” In its analytical note, the agency described Algeria as “the vibrant core of the African continent” and expressed optimism about its role as a balanced and responsible regional actor.

Clarifying Relations with Tunisia

Tunisian outlet L’Economiste Maghrébin focused on Tebboune’s clear response regarding Algerian-Tunisian relations, publishing under the headline: “Tebboune denies allegations of interference.” The paper stressed that the Algerian president firmly rejected accusations of meddling in Tunisia’s political affairs, describing such claims as mere “rabble.” Tebboune reaffirmed the strength and clarity of the bilateral partnership with Tunisia.

Strong Bonds with Mauritania

Mauritania’s daily Akhbar reported Tebboune’s statement that “no malicious attempt can undermine our relations with brotherly Mauritania.” The coverage reflected the president’s assurance that Algerian-Mauritanian ties rest on solid foundations resistant to external manipulation.

Unwavering Support for Palestine

Turkish agency Anadolu highlighted President Tebboune’s stance on the Palestinian cause, echoing his words: “There is no room for the illusion of Greater Israel.” The president reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The agency recalled that the 2022 Arab Summit in Algiers had reaffirmed this principle, particularly through Algeria’s efforts to unify Palestinian ranks under a revitalized PLO as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. Tebboune further noted that 143 UN member states voted last year in favor of full Palestinian membership, a decision obstructed only by the recurring use of the veto.

Algeria’s Sovereignty and Social Policy

London-based Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Tebboune’s warning to Algerians to “prepare for the mother of all battles.” The newspaper interpreted his remarks as proof that Algeria’s economic sovereignty and independent international policy have become a source of concern for certain powers disturbed by Algeria’s resurgence.

Meanwhile, Al-Quds Al-Arabi highlighted the social and economic dimension of the president’s announcements, particularly his decision to increase wages and pensions, measures aimed at enhancing citizens’ purchasing power and consolidating social justice.

This broad international media attention confirms Algeria’s rising influence as a sovereign, balanced, and principled voice on both the regional and global arenas — a role reinforced by President Tebboune’s firm positions on Africa, the Arab world, and the Palestinian cause.
