Algiers – Minister of Communication, Zohir Bouamama, chaired on Monday a coordination meeting with the Director General of the Central Printing Company, the Director General of Algérienne du Papier, and the liquidator of the State Press and Communication Holding Company, according to a statement from the ministry.
The meeting comes as part of a series of coordination sessions initiated by the Minister with the heads of institutions under his sector. It provided an opportunity to address pressing concerns raised by the managers, particularly the challenge of securing sufficient newspaper paper supplies to meet upcoming needs, the severe financial difficulties faced by the printing companies, and the need to update restructuring plans. Among these plans is the project of creating the National Printing Company (SNI) as a unifying entity.
Bouamama underlined the urgency of finalizing this process, expressing his full readiness to examine the concerns raised and work jointly to find appropriate solutions. He further called for serious and innovative approaches to overcome the structural imbalances affecting the printing houses, stressing that effective and sustainable remedies are essential to ensuring the sector’s stability.
