Algeria’s Digital Transformation Gains Momentum

Algiers, Algeria – November 2, 2025 – Algeria continues its push towards digital advancement, marked by several key initiatives and events across various sectors. Prime Minister Nadir Beddari honored researcher El Aid Derdabou, winner of the prestigious ‘Stars of Science’ competition, on Sunday.

SIAL, the water distribution company, launched new digital services on Saturday, November 1st, aimed at improving efficiency and customer service.

Algeria Post emphasized that the success of the national employment exam is a tangible demonstration of the ongoing digital transformation strategy. The organization also confirmed that the exam itself was conducted in an excellent environment.

In higher education, the first investment fund in the form of a ‘holding company’ dedicated to the University of Algiers 3 has been established. Furthermore, a conference was held to discuss the implementation of sector projects and priority issues.

The winners of the inaugural ‘Best Historical Digital Content’ competition were announced on Wednesday, October 29th, highlighting the growing importance of digital preservation and dissemination of Algerian history.

Prime Minister Beddari presented the budget for the higher education and scientific research sector within the 2026 Finance Bill to the National People’s Assembly on Tuesday. Meanwhile, registration for Algerian students from various universities across the country commenced.

Access to the digital platform for the employment competition will open next Thursday morning. An agreement has also been signed to regulate the exchange of data between the High Commission for Digitalization and the higher education sector.

Recent statements indicate that the Algerian university system is becoming a key driver of economic growth.
