Algiers Modernization: Minister Stresses Project Deadlines

Algiers, Algeria – Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Development, Said Saayoud, has emphasized the importance of adhering to project deadlines and quality standards in the ongoing modernization efforts in Algiers. The Minister’s remarks come as the capital city undergoes significant development aimed at enhancing its infrastructure and preserving its historical character.

Speaking at a ceremony on Saturday marking the appointment of three new delegated governors, Minister Saayoud highlighted the numerous projects underway in Algiers, noting their contribution to the city’s urban development and the showcasing of its rich history. He urged all stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of these projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

“The Corniche project will revitalize the coastal area while preserving its architectural identity, creating a new dynamic for the coastline,” Saayoud stated. He also underscored the significance of rehabilitating the Riadh El Feth complex, aiming to restore its cultural prominence and appeal.

Minister Saayoud affirmed the government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of citizens. “The state is determined to continue its efforts to enhance the quality of life for all residents,” he declared.

The appointment ceremony, attended by Minister Saayoud and the Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdenour Rabhi, saw the installation of Abdel Fattah Ben Karkoura as the delegated governor of the Cheraga administrative district, Mahrez Maamari as the delegated governor of the Dar El Beida administrative district, and Zidi Abdelmalek as the delegated governor of the Sidi M’Hamed administrative district.
