DZWatch Exclusive: Police in Bushawi have successfully dismantled a well-organized drug trafficking network, resulting in the seizure of substantial quantities of illicit substances and proceeds from criminal activity.
The operation, conducted by the 4th Judicial Police District of Bushawi, targeted a criminal organization comprised of three individuals actively involved in the trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances. Law enforcement sources confirmed that the raid was the culmination of a focused effort to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
Acting under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor, authorities acted on credible intelligence regarding the suspicious activities of a repeat offender within their jurisdiction. The subsequent investigation led to the apprehension of the primary suspect and their two accomplices.
During the operation, police seized a significant cache of illegal items, including 17,806 capsules of psychotropic drugs, 26 grams of cocaine, and 90 grams of processed cannabis. Authorities also confiscated electronic scales, a money counting machine, and four bladed weapons. Furthermore, a sum of 444 million centimes was recovered, along with two vehicles allegedly used in smuggling and distribution operations.
The suspects have been presented before the Public Prosecutor at the competent court and are facing prosecution in accordance with applicable laws. Authorities are confident that this successful operation will significantly disrupt drug trafficking activities in the Bushawi area.
