Algerian Parliament to Participate in Anti-Hunger Summit Preparations

Algiers – The People’s National Assembly (APN) of Algeria will participate in a preparatory meeting for the Third Global Parliamentary Summit Against Hunger and Malnutrition, commencing tomorrow, Monday, in Rome, Italy. This was announced in a statement released by the APN earlier today.

The meeting serves as a crucial precursor to the main summit, bringing together parliamentary representatives from around the world to discuss strategies and coordinate efforts in the fight against global hunger and malnutrition. Delegates will focus on identifying key challenges, sharing best practices, and formulating concrete action plans to be presented at the summit.

The APN’s participation underscores Algeria’s commitment to addressing food security issues both domestically and internationally. The Algerian delegation is expected to actively contribute to the discussions, drawing on the country’s experience in implementing food security programs and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. They will also advocate for increased international cooperation and resource mobilization to support vulnerable populations affected by hunger and malnutrition.

The Global Parliamentary Summit Against Hunger and Malnutrition is a key platform for parliamentarians to engage in policy dialogue, raise awareness, and advocate for legislative measures that promote food security and improve nutritional outcomes. The preparatory meeting in Rome will play a vital role in shaping the agenda and ensuring the success of the summit.

The APN’s involvement highlights Algeria’s dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 2, which aims to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030.
